A Room With a View

Oh dear me. So, for the last few weeks I’ve been working mostly from home. Which means my desk is now my couch and my work uniform is a pair of old sweats and a T-shirt from the late 80s. Its hot. But the best part of working from my living room is that I have a great view of not only the crazy intersection in front of my house but also the crazy house accross the street. Its like constant, round the clock entertainment. Let me walk you through a normal day in the life of this slightly white-trashy family.

Friday:

10:00 am-Older, frumpy looking woman pulls up and honks for teenage daughter to take her to school.  After twenty minutes of honking, the woman gets out of her car and an F-word battle ensues between her and the occupants of the house. I don’t think there were any verbs in the whole conversation.

12:00 More teenage girls pile of out house. I really don’t know how they have that many fifteen year old muffiny toppish females living under one roof. Any way-this flock of females all climbed up on the roof and proceeded to sun bathe on the flat part of the patio roof clad in terrible Wal-mart purchased string bikinis. This would have been fine for the male population of the neighborhood except all the girls are chubby and really young. Fail.

3:00 Latin lover pulls up in lowered pickup truck blasting boomy music. Muffin top comes a running and they make-out on the front lawn for ten minutes. I try to not look out the window as much as possible. Yech.

5:00 Fatherish figure comes home. More F-word exchanges. One of his wife type women (there’s about ten middle-aged chain-smoking women that live there…come to think about it… maybe its a brothel) comes running out of the house in a halter top and sweats and drives away yelling.

8:00 Limo pulls up in front. I think “Awwwwww. Girls must be going to prom! Cute.” Nope. There’s an odd exchange as the limo driver gets out of the car, waits by the passenger side door and greets a teenage boy in a tux who just emerged from the house. The talk for a minute and then more youth come out of the house carrying ???? and load it into the trunk of the limo. Car pulls away, youth re-enter house.

So….that’s just a normal day for me here in the world of home workage. Its always entertaining. Always something to see. Now if you’ll exuse me I have to go check my email and read the news…again.

Maybe this post would be better titled “rear window”

Sometimes I put Calvin up on the couch so he can look out the window. Mostly we see people get in and out of their cars in the parking lot. Sometimes they have a baby with them. Sometimes groceries. yep. that’s about it.
