Dear United States Dollar:
Hi little fellow! We’ve had a lot of fun times together. Remember that time you helped us go to war and kill a lot of Germans? Or go to war and kill a lot of Kurds? And then go to war and kill the guy who was killing the Kurds? Those were fun days.
We need to talk now, though. It seems we don’t really need you any more. You see, our government is passing this thing call “Health Care Reform.” After all is said and done, you’ll be pretty much worthless. Sorry, but apparently its an important bill. I mean…our state representatives met on a SUNDAY to talk about it! A SUNDAY! They must have really wanted God’s stamp of approval on this one.
In about five years you’ll be phased by something called the ‘yuan’. We’re going to lower our national credit score so you’re going to be very unpopular in other countries. We won’t be able to borrow against you, and our country will be bankrupt. I know it sounds bad, but hey! You’ve had a really good run. And on the bright side, you won’t have to spend anymore time in some sweaty kid’s jim shorts all recess.
Lots of love-
My Kid’s Future.

It’s important to remember, though, that health care in itself won’t sink the dollar. Over 50 years of reckless spending is slowly sinking the dollar. Health Care is just the latest big blow.

Well sweety they passed it! And yes its what God wanted!
But you should actually read the bill you might be surprised what it entails.
Basically it requires everyone to have heath care and if not they will be fined and those fines are going to get high!
The repugs 200 compromise (which still wasn’t enough to get them to actually compromise!)watered down most of the real socialized elements.
Like the public option or the single payer. The hype and rhetoric from both sides last night was sickening, but the fact it passed and they didn’t get in a physical fight says our system works.
Although Baener sure tried his best to incite a riot and maybe he did. What a hypocritical, sore losing example of governance on his part.Hes the minority and he talked as if he was in the majority hah.
I still don’t think the rich in America are ready to move to China.
But if we are lucky Rush will keep his promise and move to Costa Rica!
Also maybe, just maybe our dollar will wash some the blood and greed off its dirty little face in years to come?

Social Security was passed during the depression and despite all the doom and gloom it became wildly popular.I think most of my republican grandparents benefited from it at the end of their lives.
I would take the republicans more serious if they used this same energy to oppose all the money spent on the military budget and the costly wars we undertake.
Of course without a huge world wide military our dollar would have to compete fairly in the world!
